Tested before they ship
Power, display, keyboard, trackpad, ports, Wi-Fi, audio, webcam, and charging are checked. Battery health is recorded when the machine reports it.
Tamper-evident seals
Security stickers on the chassis and bottom cover make later opening obvious. That protects honest buyers and honest returns.

Which operating system ships
The OS is chosen from the hardware, then written on the eBay listing. We do not guess, and we do not treat every laptop the same.
Windows 11 capable
Windows 11, by default
If the machine can run Windows 11, Windows 11 is pre-installed. Ask on the listing if you want Omarchy Linux instead. We will pre-install and test Omarchy and ship that way when we agree before the sale.
Chromebooks
ChromeOS, configured
Chromebooks stay on ChromeOS. We update, test, and describe that setup on the listing. We do not assume a Chromebook will leave ChromeOS.
Older Intel, before Windows 11
Omarchy Linux
Intel machines that do not meet Windows 11's hardware requirements ship with Omarchy Linux pre-installed and tested. That gives the hardware another useful life without pretending it is a Windows 11 PC.

How we refurbish
This is the process. A given laptop may need more or less of a step. The eBay listing for that unit is the record of what was actually done.
Inspect and document
Cosmetics and function are checked and written down. Nothing is assumed about a machine we have not yet tested.
Verify the model
Identity is checked against manufacturer resources for that unit. That includes brands we often see, such as Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, and Lenovo ThinkPad.
Clean inside and out
Exterior, fans, vents, and heatsink are cleaned as the machine needs.
Service as needed
Work may include thermal paste, storage health, hinges, and ports. Exact work is listed per unit.
Test the basics that matter
Power, display, keyboard, trackpad, ports, Wi-Fi, audio, webcam, and charging.
Record battery health
When the machine reports it, that reading is recorded for the listing.
Prepare Windows when that is the plan
If the listing calls for a clean Windows install, it is installed and fully updated.
Photograph honestly
Wear is shown, not hidden. Photos are meant to match what you will hold.
Apply tamper-evident seals
Security stickers go on the chassis and bottom cover so later opening is obvious.

Chargers are called out if they are new, genuine, or tested, and called out if they are not included.
Windows status described per listing
If a clean install is part of the plan, the listing says so. If it is not, that is also stated.
Internal components cataloged
CPU, RAM, and SSD are recorded for transparency so you can see what is inside before you bid.
Returns and seals
Seals must remain intact. Broken or removed seals may reduce a refund for loss in value. That is firm and fair, and it matches our eBay policy language.

About Precision Tech Refresh
Small Central Ohio shop. This is a hobby building toward a small business. Work happens one laptop at a time, with research and testing before a listing goes up.
The name is the job. Precision means accurate specs and testing. Tech refresh means giving business-class machines another useful life instead of treating them as disposable.
We do not flip mystery units. Research, price comparison, and accurate listings come first. We are not an official HP, Dell, or Lenovo store, and we do not claim factory certification or a warehouse-scale operation.

Is this an official HP, Dell, or Lenovo store?
No. Precision Tech Refresh is an independent hobby shop. We often service business-class machines such as Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, and Lenovo ThinkPad, but we are not an authorized manufacturer store and we do not sell manufacturer warranties unless a listing says otherwise.
Do you sell laptops on this website?
Not yet. Inventory, photos, specs, and purchases are on eBay, under the store name Precision Tech Refresh.
Can I pick up locally in Central Ohio?
Ask on eBay. Local pickup is not assumed. If it is possible for a given machine, that conversation happens through eBay messages.
Do machines include a charger?
Only if the listing says so. What's included is listed per machine, including whether a charger is new, genuine, tested, or not included.
What about data on the drive?
Drives are handled so prior data is not passed on. When a listing calls for a clean OS, that install is part of the preparation.
